This is my translation of perhaps my favorite Dadié poem. All comments, corrections, additions welcome.

Dream
Hommes de tous les continents
Bernard B. Dadié
(1945)
There is a void in me tonight.
The ideas blow away, out of my head and into the open sky
in the pursuit of rhythm and cadence
to rock my longing for big spaces
to give me a sense of my life.
